I Am Not Sure if I Should Quit My Job for My Child?

My child goes to after-school facility as I continue to work. I am not sure if I should quit my job for my child. My coworkers have been very nice and supportive. And I feel bad to quit after all the help I have received. (Female in her 40s)

The issue here is not about your child going to the after-school facility as you work. But instead, it’s about how you involve and spend time with your child until he/she reaches the age of 15 and maximize the benefit of education within the family. You should appreciate and be aware how wonderful it is to be able to have the time to involve with your child until they grow into an adult.

Perhaps there are many reasons to work. Financial reasons may be a part of it. But no matter what, mothers have a role to connect the kokoro of family members. If you are to continue your job, make sure you spend quality time with your child and your husband, and make sure you try your best to fulfill your responsibilities within the family.

Husband and wife should deeply understand their respective roles and interact with their children.
Husband and wife should bring their kokoro together as one, and tell their feelings to their children.
Try to have rich conversations, and try to involve in a way to draw out a generous kokoro.
The children’s kokoro will anchor, and an honest kokoro will be fostered.

As you foster your children, it is vital as parents to bring their kokoro as one, and continue to tell their children how much they care and love them. The parents must set an example for their children, and teach them important ways of thinking, ways of life, and the family’s direction until the children reach the age of 15.  In doing so, the children will become very independent. And even if they pass the age of 15, they will continue to talk to their parents, and not make their parents worried.
The children’s anchored kokoro and their honest personality depend on the family environment. The children’s good point will continue to grow as conversations among husband and wife are abundant, the parents and children are in good relations, warm conversation continues, and for the family continues to maintain a harmonious family environment.
