Perplexed About My Decision of Quitting the School Club

Question

I was a vice captain in my school club. Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, I was asked by the manager to take care of my juniors until July, a period much longer than usual. However, as I was not sure if my physical strength would allow me to balance this with the preparation for college entrance exams, after consulting with my family, I quit my club. Now I am troubled, wondering if that was against the teachings of Kami. (Male/ Teens)

A

The role of a vice captain is to support the captain under the instruction of the manager to realize smooth activities of the club. It can be said that the cause of your trouble is a lack of conversations between the three parties that you should have made based on your position.

Every human being is filled with self-confidence when they live life guided by their unmei.
However, when they rely on knowledge and get colored by selfishness, the kokoro of human beings will lose confidence to live, rivaling and comparing themselves with others.
The strengths of the unmei will come to life when the teachings are learned and the flow of society is perceived.
The jittai will be corrected when life is lived with a kokoro supported by the teachings.

The teachings of Kami are the principles that guide your life in the right direction. Even when you feel uncertain about something, if you constantly keep in touch with them, you will come to see what to do to fulfil your present role and responsibilities.

What is important is that you are reflecting on yourself to check if you have gone off the path or not. It is the proof of your sincerity.

However, if regretting over the decision already made is preventing you from concentrating on studying for the entrance exams, you will get absolutely nothing out of this. Keeping this in mind, you should change your focus and work on your studies to win a good result.

Life is beset with difficult decisions. What you have learned through this experience will surely be an asset for your future life. After your entrance exams, if you have time, it will be good for you to see the club-mate who was the captain and the manager, to tell them what has been on your mind.
