I Pointed Out the Fraud of the Neighborhood Association, but was Dissatisfied with the Lack of Response

I am an officer of the neighborhood association, but I noticed a fraud in accounting and proposed an improvement plan to the chairman. The chairman listens, but does not respond at all, and acquiesces. So, when I confronted him again, he said, “I don’t want you to get involved anymore, and I want you to step down.” (Male/70s)

The spirit of trying to be useful to others, such as community activities, is precious. However, it is important not to exceed the responsibilities and positions. Even if it is the right thing to do, it will not be accepted beyond the position and will not lead to better results. If you make a recommendation or a suggestion to the person in charge, leaving the rest to them to deal with the situation is the right way and an appropriate way to engage in your position.

Also, a sense of justice is important, but the other person also has their own thoughts and circumstances. If you push through your arguments, you will blame others and invite the other person’s repulsive feelings. As a result, you become lonely.

A strong desire to live believing in knowledge and relying on it will not allow you to live to make the most out of the encounters of each and every thing (existence).
To make the most of your unmei; learn the teachings and strive to be a shinja who lives by the principles.
Naturally and gradually, your kokoro (feelings) will anchor and become a person who gives back to society.
Making the most of all the encounters with people, and to live with the kokoro (conviction) to give back to the world (society) is a person who plays an active role in society

When you learn the teachings, you will have the breadth and space to think about the other person’s point of view without sticking to your own opinion. Strong thoughts will fade and you will be able to harmonize with your surroundings. You will be able to make the most of your own strengths, be appreciated by those around you, and enjoy a sense of purpose in life. It is only in such harmony that problems can be resolved amicably.

Let’s practice this way of living in harmony, starting at home. Relationships with people in your local community will surely deepen.
