Although I have been free from diseases so far, I now have to face my illness. Every day, I am having a hard time wondering, “why me?” I have not told my wife and child about my illness yet because I don’t want to make them worried. (Male in his 50s)

As long as people have physical bodies, we cannot live a life completely free of diseases. Therefore, take your disease as an opportunity to reflect on how you have perceived things, how you have lived, and how you have interacted with others―especially your families. It will allow you to realize important things, like, “Before I knew it, I have lost gratitude. ” “I have been keeping everything to myself, without making conversations with my families.”
Then, in your kigan, speak of your anxiety and ask Kami to help you correct what needs to be corrected, and put them into action.

Bodily changes occur daily.
Learn the teachings with family members; the kokoro(life) of the human being is protected in a home where the kokoro(unmei) come together through the principles.
When your physical condition deteriorates, and the name of a disease is given, understand that this is the time to attain true health and reflect on the life you have lived.
When you fall ill, you should not keep it to yourself―illness should be dealt with as a matter of the entire family. The first thing for you to do is to share your situation and honest feelings with your families. Supported by your family members, and with their thoughts coming together as one, the will to positively face the illness will spring forth in you. Your hearts will become anchored, bringing out your power to recuperate, and enhancing the efficacy of the medical treatment. In this way, things will gradually improve.
