I got my dream job in the apparel industry, and it is both fun and rewarding. However, it’s not fun when my skills are imitated or when other employees are dealing with customers I’m close to. (Female in her 20s)

You need a kokoro of hōshi above all else to shine in your work. A kokoro of hōshi means valuing the hearts of the people you interact with and generously using your strengths for the benefit of those around you. Use your strengths to help not only customers, but also co-workers, superiors, and the organization. That’s where your presence shines.
Work is not something that is done by one person alone; it is something that the entire organization carries out. Colleagues are not rivals, but friends who work together to accomplish the task. If you have great skills, share them to improve as a group. Your value in the organization increases when you work with an attitude of thinking about the benefit of the whole.
Not only are people trusted and needed by those around you, but they also teach you where you are weak and help you with things. As a result, you will gain more strength, and your joy and purpose in life will increase.
In this way, everything you do for others will come back to nobody else but you.

The strength (environment) created by the coming together of all people and things is what work is all about.
Make the teachings the support of your life; and strive to deepen the relationships.
Keep the movement of your kokoro that forces you off the path in moderation; instead, move towards cooperation and harmony.
Naturally, unmei of one another will come together, complement each other, and create an environment to live in harmony.
There, results will follow all the work you do; and live a life with an abundance of joy and filled with meaning and purpose.
Family supports you no matter what. Talk to your family about everything—whether it be your frustration or your joy. You will feel strangely more stable, and you will be able to accept things seriously. Let’s aim to become a person who can move comfortably for the sake of others.
