I was diagnosed with an incurable disease and the doctors told me I only have two more years to live. To be honest, I want to live as long as possible. What should I do to achieve this? (Male in his 70s)

The mind and body are linked. What we need is to study Kami’s teachings and offer kigan repeatedly so that we can maintain a healthy kokoro.
A healthy kokoro increases your natural healing power and immunity, and brings out your strength to live. This has a positive effect on your physical condition. Above all, when your kokoro is healthy, you can accept various things that are going on, and live positively without any regrets.
All humans are born and given life by Kami. Your life will shine only if you use your life you have been given to contribute to society.
Even when you are sick, there are many things you can do to help others, such as expressing your gratitude to your family and various medical staffs, and encouraging each other with patients you see at your visit to the hospitals. As you spend each day with the kokoro of hōshi (the kokoro to give back), you will live with a bright and positive and a healthy kokoro.

Gain awareness from the teachings; it is necessary to strive to establish a family environment that support and involve based on the principles.
This environment will foster a generous kokoro, and human beings will return to its healthy kokoro.
Life is finite. In order to live out this precious time without regrets, cherish your emotional connection with your family. The warm relationship with the family members who are always there for each other gives rise to a strong will to face reality and overcome it. When a family comes together to face an illness, the strength to live is brought out.
Families are closely tied together. There is a Kokoro no Michi that connects vertically from ancestors to descendants. If you demonstrate your strength to be useful in your life, that way of life will remain in your Kokoro no Michi, and lead to a better life in the future as well as your next life.
