The source of all of the happiness is a family in harmony. If you failed at investing, talk to your family first and find out how to overcome the situation. Without doing so, if you make a judgement alone without consulting with your family and regaining the trust from your wife, you would worsen the gap between the both of you. That is the way of living that would remove yourself away from happiness.
What you need to do now is, to apologize to your wife, to thank the job you still have, and to strive to be a husband that supports the family strongly.
